Apple's latest watch is the most durable, and is equipped with features such as an optimized user interface and faster charging speed.

Apple announced its Apple Watch Series 7 at a live event on Tuesday, and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams called it "the most durable Apple Watch we have ever made." Apple Watch Series 7 is the successor to Apple Watch Series 6 last year. It is equipped with a completely redesigned display, which Apple calls "the largest and most advanced retina display". The screen is nearly 20% larger than the Apple Watch Series 6. It is also 40% thinner than the Series 6.    

Williams said: "It encourages you to exercise actively, and get more benefits through exercise" and monitor the health of users. 

The case and display have undergone "softer, rounder corners" improvements. Williams said that Series 7 watches refract light "to produce a subtle surround effect," Williams said. The size of the watch "has almost not changed," Williams said. 

When the user's wrist is down, the indoor brightness of Apple Watch Series 7 will increase by 70%.

Apple Watch Series 7 is equipped with a new display, a new keyboard and better durability. Like its predecessor, Series 7 has 18 hours of battery life and an improved charging experience-33% faster than Apple Watch Series 6, with an updated charging architecture and a new USB data cable. Now, according to product manager Lauren Braun, it takes 45 minutes from charging to 80%. 

Apple Watch Series 7 provides new features for cyclists. It will detect when you start riding and remind you to start exercising, and automatically stop and continue when you pause. The watch has an improved electric bicycle algorithm that can calculate calories more accurately.

Braun said the buttons have been redesigned and enlarged to match the size and shape of the new display. This makes it easier to click buttons such as stopwatch, activity, and alarm. She said that it can also hold nearly 50% more text than Apple Watch Series 6, making it easier to read text and reducing scrolling.

Apple Watch Series 7 also provides a new way to enter text using the full keyboard, you can tap or swipe, and QuickPath, which uses machine learning to predict the word you are typing.

One of the main differences between Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch Series 6 is the look and feel. The case and display of Apple Watch Series 7 are slightly larger with more rounded corners. Apple Watch Series 7 has a new Mindfulness application, watchOS 8 has updated advanced algorithms to analyze GPS, heart rate, accelerometer and gyroscope data to detect when the user starts riding a bicycle. Unlike Apple Watch Series 6, it also has a full keyboard for inputting information.

Since its launch in 2018, Apple Watch has been able to detect whether the user has fallen and can call emergency services through the wrist. watchOS 8 has updated the fall detection algorithm. If someone falls during exercise (such as riding a bicycle), it will be detected.

Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch Series 7 both have the same 18-hour battery life and use recyclable materials, but Apple stated that Apple Watch Series 7 “has more recyclable ingredients than any other Apple Watch” and uses 100% The recycled tungsten aluminum watch case uses 100% recycled materials. Apple Watch Series 7 does not contain harmful chemicals such as mercury, PVC, beryllium, and BFR.

One of Apple Watch’s other main competitors is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, which will be launched in August 2021. Galaxy Watch 4 has two design options: sporty and classic. Classic models look more like traditional watches.

Galaxy Watch 4 also comes with body composition analysis, electrocardiogram, sleep tracking, more frequent night blood oxygen readings and automatic exercise tracking. Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic are available in black and silver, while Watch 4 is also available in green, pink and gold.

The 40mm Bluetooth model of the Galaxy Watch 4 starts at $249.99, and the 40mm LTE model starts at $299.99.

It has five new colors: midnight, starlight, green, blue and red. It also offers silver, graphite, gold, stainless steel, natural titanium and space black titanium. Apple Watch Series 7 is compatible with all existing straps, and there will be new straps by designer Hermes.

Williams said that all aluminum watch cases are made of 100% recycled metal, and all magnets in Apple Watch Series 7 use 100% recycled rare earth elements.

Pre-orders will begin next week, and the unit will be available later this fall.
