According to a report from Insider, Google plans to release its first internal smartwatch next year.

Although the company has released a wearable accessory platform for Android devices since 2014, if the project shines, this will be the first official smartwatch made by Google.

Although the official name has not been confirmed, Insider reported that the watch is currently codenamed "Rohan" and is manufactured by Google's Pixel Group, which is known for manufacturing Google Pixel smartphones and earplugs.

The watch will include functions such as a heart monitor and a pedometer; the basics of fitness tracking applications. The report also pointed out that Google will introduce Fitbit integration after the official release of the new smartwatch.

Google completed the acquisition of Fitbit for US$2.1 billion at the beginning of this year, and there are reports that the cost of Google’s smart watches will be higher than Fitbit devices. With this new smart watch, Google plans to reintegrate the Wear OS 3 platform.
